What brokers does the journal support? +
The journal currently supports 10 brokers via CSV import: Charles Schwab, Webull, Interactive Brokers (IBKR), Tastytrade, ThinkorSwim (TD Ameritrade), Tradovate, Lightspeed, Robinhood, NinjaTrader, and TradeStation. The broker guide included with your purchase shows exactly which CSV to export from each platform.
Where is my trade data stored? +
Everything is stored locally in your browser's storage on your own computer. Nothing is transmitted to any server — not your trades, your journal entries, your setups, or your psychology notes. Your data is entirely private and yours. The journal includes a full backup/restore system so you can export everything as a single file.
How does the license work? +
After purchase, you'll receive a license key by email. Open the HTML file, enter your key on the activation screen, and you're in. You can activate on up to 3 devices — perfect for home and work machines. The journal works offline after first activation with a 72-hour grace period between validations.
What if I change computers? +
Use the built-in backup function (in the journal footer) to export all your data as a JSON file before switching. On your new machine, restore from that backup file to get everything back — trades, journal entries, setups, psychology sessions, everything. Contact support if you need to transfer a license activation.
Does the journal work for options traders? +
Yes. The risk calculator supports options (×100 multiplier) alongside all major futures contracts (/ES ×50, /NQ ×20, /GC ×100, /CL ×1,000). Options trades import from supported brokers and the FIFO engine handles them correctly. The journal pairs perfectly with the Book 2 options methodology.
Do the books and journal work together? +
They're designed as a system. The books teach the KPL methodology, risk engineering, and options framework. The journal's Setup Library lets you define and track exactly the setups taught in the books — so you can measure whether your execution matches your theory.
